1. Who We Are
JKEdusphere (jkedusphere.blogspot.com) is a free educational blog and mock test platform based in Jammu & Kashmir, India. We publish study notes, mock tests, current affairs analysis, exam notifications, and answer keys primarily for students preparing for JKSSB, JKPSC, JKPSI, UPSC, NEET, SSC, and other competitive examinations.
Alongside our blog content, we operate a Mock Test Platform where registered students can take free and premium timed tests, view their scores and rank on a leaderboard, and download explained solution PDFs. We also operate a Secure Notes Store for premium study material, unlocked via one-time payment.
JKEdusphere is operated as an individual/independent venture, with the blog hosted on Google's Blogger platform and the mock test platform running on Google Apps Script and Google Sheets. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this Privacy Policy refer to JKEdusphere and its operator.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our blog or use our mock test platform, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices you have. By using JKEdusphere, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. What Information We Collect
What we collect depends on how you use JKEdusphere. Simply reading blog posts collects only automatic, non-identifying analytics data. Creating a mock test account or making a purchase involves you directly providing some information to us.
| Type of Data | How It Is Collected | Who Collects It |
|---|---|---|
| IP Address | Automatically when you visit the blog | Google / Blogger platform |
| Browser & Device Info | Browser type, OS, screen resolution, device type | Google Analytics |
| Pages Visited | Which pages/posts you view, time spent, referral source | Google Analytics |
| Cookie Data | Stored in your browser when you visit | Google / Blogger / AdSense |
| Comments | Name, email (optional), comment text — if you leave a comment | Blogger / Google |
| Ad Interaction Data | Which ads you see or click (for ad personalisation) | Google AdSense |
| Contact Form Data | Name, email, message — only if you use our contact form | JKEdusphere / Email provider |
| Account Details | Name, email, phone, exam preparing for, district — provided when you sign up for a mock test account | JKEdusphere (Google Sheets backend) |
| Password | Set during sign-up — stored only as a salted, one-way hash, never in plain text | JKEdusphere (Google Sheets backend) |
| Test Performance Data | Your answers, score, percentage, time taken, correct/wrong/skipped counts for every test you attempt | JKEdusphere (Google Sheets backend) |
| Purchase Records | Which pack you bought, the amount, and a Razorpay payment reference ID — only after a successful payment | JKEdusphere & Razorpay |
3. Mock Test Accounts & Registration
To take mock tests, view your results, or appear on the leaderboard, you must create a free account by providing your full name, email address, phone number, the exam you're preparing for, your district, and a password. Your phone number and district are used only to personalise your experience and are never displayed publicly.
Your password is never stored in plain text. It is hashed using SHA-256 with a unique random salt per account before being saved, meaning even we cannot see your actual password. If you use "Forgot Password," we generate and email you a new temporary password rather than revealing your original one — this is standard secure practice.
Your account email is also used to send you password-reset emails and, where applicable, purchase confirmations. We do not send unsolicited promotional email to your registration address beyond what's necessary to operate your account.
4. Test Attempts, Answers & Leaderboard
When you attempt a mock test, we record your submitted answers, score, percentage, time taken, and a breakdown of correct/wrong/skipped questions against your account. This is stored so that you can review your past attempts, see question-by-question explanations, and track your improvement over time through the "My Attempts" feature.
Your name and score appear on the public leaderboard for each test you attempt, so other students can see how they rank. To protect your privacy, your email address is partially masked on the leaderboard (e.g., j***n@example.com) and is never shown in full to other users.
Test performance data is retained so your history remains available to you indefinitely, unless you request deletion of your account (see Section 14, Your Rights).
5. Payments & Purchases (Razorpay)
Premium test packs and premium notes are unlocked through a one-time payment processed by Razorpay, a licensed and RBI-regulated payment gateway. When you make a payment, you are taken to Razorpay's secure checkout — JKEdusphere does not build, host, or have access to any payment form that collects your card, UPI, netbanking, or bank account details.
After a successful payment, Razorpay returns a payment reference ID to us, which we store alongside your email, the pack purchased, and the amount paid — solely to activate your access and to keep a record for support and dispute resolution. We never receive or store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials at any point in this process.
For premium notes, access is granted through a secure, one-time download token generated after payment verification, rather than a permanent public link — this protects the purchased material from being shared or accessed without payment.
For any payment-related privacy questions, Razorpay's own privacy policy governs how they process your payment data: razorpay.com/privacy.
6. How We Use Your Information
The information collected — whether automatically through third-party services or directly through your account — is used for the following purposes:
- Operating the blog and mock test platform: Ensuring the website and test-taking experience function correctly and are accessible to all visitors.
- Running your account: Authenticating your login, showing your test history, calculating your rank, and enabling password resets.
- Processing purchases: Activating premium test packs or notes after a successful Razorpay payment, and keeping a purchase record for support.
- Understanding our audience: Using aggregated, anonymised analytics data to understand which content is most helpful to our readers and improve accordingly.
- Displaying advertisements: Google AdSense may use your data to show you relevant, personalised advertisements. This helps us keep JKEdusphere free.
- Responding to enquiries: If you contact us via the contact form, email, or Telegram, we use the information you provide solely to respond to your query.
- Legal compliance: We may use or disclose information if required by applicable Indian law, court order, or government authority.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
7. Data Storage & Security
Mock test account, test performance, and purchase data are stored in Google Sheets accessed via a private Google Apps Script backend — not in a publicly browsable database. Access to this backend is restricted to the JKEdusphere operator.
- Passwords are stored only as salted SHA-256 hashes and cannot be reversed to reveal the original password, even by us.
- Login and password-reset requests are sent using secure request methods so your password is never exposed in a browser address bar or shared link.
- Leaderboard entries mask your email address so it is never fully visible to other students.
- We do not store any card, UPI, or bank account details — that data never leaves Razorpay's systems.
While we take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 16.
8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
